The first-ever World Twenty20 championships will commence on 11th September in South Africa. Undoubtedly the most exciting form of the game, each innings lasts 20 overs or 75 minutes, leading to explosive batting/bowling action.

The groups are as follows:

Group A: South Africa, West Indies, Bangladesh

Group B: Australia, England, Zimbabwe

Group C: New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Kenya

Group D: Pakistan, India, Scotland

The matches will be played at three venues are Kingsmead in Durban, Newlands in Cape Town and the Wanderers in Johannesburg. All the matches including group matches, super eights, semi- finals as well as the finals will be played at these three venues only.

Two qualifiers from each group will enter the super eight stages where they will play intra-group matches. Finally the top four teams will enter the semifinals from where two teams will proceed to play the final match of the prestigious ICC World Twenty20 South Africa 2007.
