Result: Draw (Board President's XI 500-5 dec drew with England 315-6).

England's warm up test match against the Sri Lanka Board President's XI ended in a bore draw after day three. After spending two days batting, the Presidents declared at 500-5 on a relatively tame pitch. It provided some decent batting practice for Captain Michael Vaughan (38), Ian Bell (49), Paul Collingwood (52), Owais Shah (38) and Ravi Bopara (40 not out), before England finished on 315-6. Kevin Peitersen was the only batsman to get a dissapointing knock, hitting only four runs before edging a ball to gully. With such a limited amount of time, England got at many players in for at least an hour as they could, giving them a much needed warm-up.

Neither team will take much from the game as they head towards the first test match on the 1st December.
