Cheltenham Festival Betting

Cheltenham Festival 2008: Tuesday 11th to Friday 14th March 2008.

This year’s Cheltenham Festival is set to be huge, with over 200,000 spectators at the legendary horse racing meeting. The industry expects the country to wager well over £500m on the 25 races of the meeting alone.

On Friday, the biggest race of the entire Jump season is contested; the Totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup. After a slight injury scare the favourite Kauto Star has been declared fit to race and is now around even money, whilst the second favourite, his stable mate Denman, is not far behind at 5/2. Some fancy the chances of the likes of Exotic Dancer and The Listener, but at this stage the bookies do not rate their chances.

For your Totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup free bet and Cheltenham Festival free tips, watch this and the horse racing tips pages. They will both be updated regularly in the run up to the Cheltenham festival.

  • Tuesday feature race: Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle
  • Wednesday feature race: Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase
  • Thursday feature race: The Ladbrokes World Hurdle
  • Friday feature race: The Totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup

With Cheltenham just three weeks away, Sky Bet have produced an array of innovative special markets, including betting on what will happen first in the festival, with victory for Kauto Star in the Gold Cup 12/1 to happen before any of the other six events listed.

Additional Gold Cup specials include a match bet between Kauto Star and Denman and Sky Bet make ‘The Maserati’ 4/5 favourite to beat ‘The Tank’ (even-money). For those who fancy Kauto Star to use his late turn of foot, it’s 2/1 for him to win up to five lengths or if you think Denman will grind them into submission, it’s 7/2 for him to win over five lengths.

Other specials include an Irish-only and an English-only Champion Hurdle market. World Hurdle betting is also available without dual champion, Inglis Drever, as well as a number of winning distance markets.
