West Ham United FC

West Ham's academy is famed for its production of young, talented players and with a host of young stars in their line-up, attractive football is guarenteed.

The Hammers ten-year run in the Premier League came to an end in 2003 when they were relegated after a nail-biting final-day draw at Birmingham City. In their first season back in the Championship, Alan Pardew's men failed to secure promotion after losing to Crystal Palace in a dramatic play-off final. However, they were not to suffer the same fate the following year, this time beating Preston North End at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, thanks to a Bobby Zamora goal.

The Hammers announced their return to the top-flight with a bang, finishing in ninth place in the 2005/06 season. However a controvesy filled 2006/07 campaign saw them escape relegation by three points, despite being bottom in December. The signing of Argentinian forward Carlos Tevez sparked a late revival at West Ham and despite the revelation that Tevez's transfer had infact been illegal, the East London team remained in the Premiership, being subject to a £5.5m fine instead of a points deduction.

Former Charlton Athletic boss Alan Curbishley is now manager at Upton Park and he will be looking to establish West Ham's future in the Premier League, and the notoriously demanding fans at the 35,647 capacity Upton Park will be expectant of a campaign more successful than their last.
