Arsenal FC

Arsenal Football Club, based in Holloway, North London, was formed in 1886 and have won 13 league titles. Under the watchful eye of Frenchman Arsene Wenger, Arsenal have transformed their reputation of playing boring football, playing some of the most free-flowing, attractive football that the Premiership has seen. Arsenal are consistently challenging for silverware although are undergoing a period of re-building having won Premier League and FA Cup doubles in 1998 and 2002.

However, Wenger's refusal to commit to beyond the current 2007/2008 season has led to a mini-crisis within the club, with Henry citing this (and the resignation of Chief Executive David Dein) as one of his reasons for leaving. Arsenal survived the departure of club captain Patrick Viera, however Henry's transfer maybe a step too far. Arsenal have a wealth of young talent, the jewel in the crown being Cesc Fabregas, however with the possibility of the Wenger era coming to an end this could mean the end to a successful decade for the North London club.

Arsenal play at the new Emirates Stadium in Ashburton Grove. The £390m stadium recently replaced their previous home, Highbury.
