Steven Gerrard MBE joined Liverpool in 1989 as a youth player and made his professional debut in 1997.

The commanding midfielder and Liverpool captain has won many honours with his club, most notably guiding them to a UEFA Champions League title in 2005.

In recent years there has been a lot of speculation surrounding Gerrard's future at Liverpool, and at one point he looked destined to join Chelsea, however at the last minute he went back on his decision and signed a new 4 year deal with Liverpool.
