David Beckham, OBE, was born in Leytonstone, London on the 2nd May 1975. Although he was born in London, David Beckham is a lifelong Manchester United fan and used to make the long journey with his parents to Old Trafford to watch them as a child.

He made his Manchester United debut in the 1994- 1995 season, but it was in 1996 when David Beckham became a household name, scoring past goalkeeper Neil Sullivan from within his own half of the field.

Beckhams form continued to impress everyone, which lead to him being selected for England's 1998 world cup squad. It was in that tournament where Beckham was famously dismissed for kicking out at Argentinian midfielder Diego Simeone. This lead to Beckham recieving death threats and critisism form many England fans.

However, he fought through this and went on to enjoy a further 5 years with Manchester United until the famous football boot incident with Alex Ferguson which lead to the then England Captain joining Real Madrid.

Beckham had a very up-and-down career with Real Madrid, but finished on a high by winnig the La Liga title.

He has now signed a deal to play for Los Angeles Galaxy in America and will be introduced on 13th July 2007.
