Terry secures new Chelsea deal

Chelsea have agreed a new deal with skipper John Terry worth £6.8million-a-year.

According to The Sun, Stamford Bridge supremo Roman Abramovich flew out to the club's pre-season training camp in Los Angeles to shake hands on the deal with Terry.

Terry who had two years remaining on his original deal will now be earning £131,000 a week, making him the Premiership's top earner. Chelsea team-mate Andriy Schevchenko and Michael Ballack has previously led the way on £121,000 a week.

JT was reportedly unhappy on his previous weekly wage of £68,000 and felt he deserved to earning as much as Ballack and Schevchenko.
