Sportsbetting to hit taiwan

With its massive recent economic expansion, Taiwan has made plans to launch sports betting on the island.

These changes could take place as early as 2008.

Car racing and horse racing are rumoured to be among the 3 sports that punters will be able to bet on. Under Taiwanese law, animals are forbidden from being used for gambling purposes, so changes need to be made which will cause delays.

However, car racing will be able to go ahead without any changes being made.
