Romero Wins Deutsche Bank Players' Championship of Europe
30th Jul 2007Argentine Andres Romero took his maiden European tour victory in the Players' Championship in Hamburg.
Romero, 26, won by three strokes at 19 under-par a week after finishing third at the British Open at Carnoustie.
Romero has established himself as one of emerging young talents and has earnt himself more than £690,000 from his performances at Carnoustie and in Hamburg.
Romero equalled the score record with 63 in his third round to take a two-shot lead over England's Zane Scotland. However Scotland shot 76 in his final round to finish in 11th place. Oliver Wilson finished as Britain's top player in second place at 16 under-par.
