Owen is Back!
18th Jul 2007Injury prone Micheal Owen scored his first goal in 19 months for Newcastle last night in a friendly victory over neighbours Hartlepool
The England striker has made no more than 14 appearances for the Teeside club in the 2 years that he has been there, but with a good pre-season under his belt, Owen could be set for success in the coming season.
At one of Owen's previous clubs, Liverpool, two big summer signing made their debuts. Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel both got run outs in last nights freindly encounter with German side Werder Bremen in Switzerland. It was to be a fellow new recruit however, who stole the show. Andriy Vorinin bagged a brace for his new side with John Arne Riise scoring a third for Liverpool in a match they won 3-2.
