22nd Aug 2007Michael Owen And Alan Smith are to start up front for england in Wednesday's friendly against Germany at wembly.
Since his knee ligament injury, which was sustained in 2006 World Cup, Michael Owen has only made six appearances for Newcastle and England.
Ray Clemence, England's goalkeeping coach, said there was no harm in playing Owen for a full game and he confirmed that Smith would be with him up front.
Steve McClaren said: "He hasn't played a full game this season, so it's a chance to give him minutes."
