21st Aug 2007

The Tottenham manager, Martin Jol, is under threat of losing his job as several of the top bosses at the club have lost confidence in him.

The Sevilla coach, Juande Ramos, has been rumoured to replace Jol; but Ramos' agent denies any links with Spurs. Jonathan Legard of BBC Radio 5live believes that the top officials at Tottenham do not think Jol can deliever regular top four Premiership finishes. Spurs have lost there first two matches this season, but managed a 4-0 win over Derby on Saturday.

Portsmouth boss, Harry Redknapp, and Marcello Lippi, the Italian world cup wining coach, have also been linked with a move to White Hart Lane.

Following two losses to Sunderland and Everton, after spending a £40 million summer outlay on players, Jol came under pressure. However some fans believe it is far to early to make a decision after only three games.
