31st Jul 2007

India have beaten England by seven wickets in the second test at Trent Bridge.

India began today on 10-0 needing just 63 more runs for victory. Openers Karthik and Jaffer looked comfortable before Jaffer fell on 47 and Karthik on 55. Tendulkar scored only one run before being caught by Cook off Tremlett, who took three wickets to cap off an impressive debut.

Four byes took India past their target of 72 after 94 minutes of play and England must win at The Oval next week if to avoid losing their first test series on home soil since the 2001 Ashes.
