Defending Champ Mauresmo crashes out of Wimbledon

Defending Women's Single Champion of Wimbledon crashed out of the tournament yesterday after a stunning performance by 14th seed Nicole Vaidisova who won 7-6, 4-6, 6-1.

Mauresmo blamed her poor performance and in particular her 14 double faults she accumulated throughout the match.

Vaidisova, from the Czech Republic was excited to have made it to the last 8 at Wimbledon for the first time. She has dreams of making it to the finals and winning emulating her fellow counrtywoman (she was born in Germany) Steffi Graf's seven wins.

Vaidisova meets number 6 seed Ana Ivanovic in the last eight. Ana has played very well so far so it shoul be an exciting match.
