FA Cup Fifth Round - Saturday

15th February, 2008

This weekend’s FA Cup action kicks off on BBC1 at the Memorial Stadium where Bristol Rovers host Southampton at 12:30pm. With Bristol Rovers already giving their fans something to cheer about with a shock win over Fulham at Craven Cottage, they are now looking to extend their cup run further. Their current league form is disappointing however, following their promotion from League 2.

Southampton, who last season were relegated from the Premier League, are having just as bad a season, lying close to the bottom of the table in 18th place, only six points away from the relegation zone. After selling some key players, such as Gareth Bale and Theo Walcott, the club are looking for a win to boost their confidence.

Due to the nineteen league places between the two clubs, bookies have put Southampton as clear favourites for the win. Southampton are getting odds around the 7/5 mark but, for the people looking to be a little more risky, Bristol Rovers are priced at around 15/8.

BGBet are offering a refund to all bets lost on the first goalscorer if Stern John scores at any point during the match. Other offers and odds are available through our odds comparison.

The second match of the fifth round sees Arsenal go to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United at 5:15pm. Man Utd, who are now five points behind Arsenal at the top of the Premiership table, are priced as favourites due to their home advantage.

With Chelsea as the only other team within ten points of them, Arsenal, who have been said to be “majestic” this season with both their first and second teams, could severely upset Sir Alex and could considerably damage their opponent’s title ambitions.

Centrebet odds for the match are roughly as follows: Man Utd to win at 11/10, a draw at 9/4, and an Arsenal win at 12/5. This time BGBet are refunding first scorer bets if the game finishes with a 0-0 scoreline. Again, for odds and offers please visit our odds comparison page.
