X-Factor semi-final betting

30th November, 2009

Last night saw the remaining finalists battle for a place in the semi finals and Lloyd Daniels performed his final performance on X-Factor 2009.

Reactions last night proved that the news was expected as it had been highlighted on several occasions that the contestant was out of his depth in the competition vocally and it was inevitable that he was going to go, but he took the news extremely well.

Olly Murs and Lloyd Daniels were left in the last two and Olly exploded with excitement and relief when he heard he had a guaranteed place in the semi finals, before running off the stage leaving his mentor Simon Cowell and Lloyds mentor Cheryl Cole to tend to the 16 year old.

The contestant didn’t leave without praise, his mentor Cheryl Cole explained, “I’m really proud of him. He needs to be proud of himself. He’s going to blossom into a little star.” Lloyd himself stood proud on the stage and told Dermot O’Leary, “I have enjoyed every moment. I want to thank people for keeping me in this long, I just wanted to be recognised, and I think I have done that.”

Now that Joe McElderry, Stacey Soloman, Danyl Johnson and Olly Murs have secured themselves a place in the semi-finals, the aggressive and indecisive odds begin to appear from the bookies!

Ladbrokes are pricing Joe McElderry as odds on favourite at 4/5 to be crowned the winner of X-Factor 2009. Following closely behind him is Stacey Solomon who is priced at 11/4, Olly Murs at 5/1 and former favourite Danyl Johnson is now at the bottom of the betting, priced at 10/1.

A spokesman from Ladbrokes revealed his thoughts as we reach the semi-finals explaining, “It’s amazing that Lloyd lasted as long as he did. Joe remains the one to beat.”
