X-Factor results, christmas no.1 singles, Strictly Come Dancing Final

15th December, 2008

This weekend we saw Alexandra Burke win the X-factor by 58% of the votes and Strictly Come Dancing make the contoversial move of allowing all three semi finalists to go through to the final next week. So, after the hype and drama of this weekend, let's see what odds the bookies have for us this week:

Though the X-Factor may be over, the hype is not- with the X-Factor winner battling to be Christmas no. 1, let's take a look at Alexandra's chances:

Who will be Christmas No.1?

  • X-Factor winner (Alexandra) 1/12 (coral)
  • Leona Lewis 8/1 (coral)
  • Aled Jones & Terry Wogan 10/1 (coral)
  • Geraldine McQueen (Peter Kay) 14/1 (stanjames)
  • Take That 25/1 (william hill)
  • Status Quo 33/1 (coral)
  • Killers ft Elton John 40/1 (stanjames)

Strictly Come Dancing:

Who will win?

  • Despite gaining the lowest amount of points in the semi final, never underestimate the popularity of Tom Chambers, he stands as the favourite to win this week: 10/11 (sportingbet)
  • Rachel Stevens has strong odds of 2/1 (victor chandler)
  • Despite getting extremely high scores and being a favourite with the judges, Lisa Snowdon has the lowest odds: 6/1 (stanjames)

Our thoughts?

Christmas no.1 single:

  • Alexandra's single has been extremely popular- hoards of people have already downloaded the song online so much so that the experts think that she has already bagged herself the no.1 spot despite her single not yet being in shops

Strictly Come Dancing:

  • The decision to put all three couples through to the final have met with controversy- the truth of the matter is that Tom scored so much lower than the other two that even if he had had the majority of public votes he could still not have avoided being in the dance off. Tom is popular with the public but if he doesn't score higher with the judges this weekend, one of the girls will be walking off with the trophy for sure.
