World Snooker Championship 2008

22nd April, 2008

Three days into the World Snooker Championship 2008 we have already lost a few big names, including Stephen Lee, Nigel Bond and Steve Davis.

Some big names that have already progressed include seven-time champion Stephen Hendry, Joe Swail and 2002 winner Peter Edbon.

There are still a number of first-round matches yet to start, with Ken Doherty, Mark Williams and facourite Ronnie O’Sullivan yet to get their challenges underway.

The betting is fairly open on the outright winner, with O’Sullivan the clear favourite at best odds of 3/1 with Skybet, The bookmakers rate Maguire (7/1), Murphy (8/1), Higgins (8/1), Ding (11/1) and Selby (11/1) as the closest challengers. Use our odds comparison service to find the best World Snooker Championship odds.

Don’t forget to use Paddy Power’s great special for the tournament: If you place a losing match bet on any match that goes to a deciding frame, they will give you a Free Bet to the same stake on any other World Championship match!
