Robin To Bob In

Nicky Henderson's Petit Robin was impressive when romping to a 7l victory in a novices hurdle at Newbury last month and the French import can take the step up in grade for the Anglo Irish Bank Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown on Saturday in his stride.

The handicapper had a near impossible task in trying to rate the twice raced Tino Tino accurately and the 9st11lb he has ended up with in the playbets.com Handicap Hurdle could prove to be very lenient. The value of his two runs in modest company in France, the second of which he won readily, can only be guessed at but the mere fact that his current trainer, David Pipe, has entered Tino Tino for such a competitive event suggests he has been showing plenty of ability since he arrived at Pond House from France.

Chance Du Roy surprised his trainer, Philip Hobbs, when making a winner jumping bow at Newbury recently. The chestnut was very professional at the Berkshire venue and, as he has plenty of scope, he is taken to follow up in the Fraser Steele Juvenile Hurdle.

A penalty is unlikely to stop Paul Nicholls' Nycteos adding to his easy Boxing Day victory at either Chepstow in the Western Daily Press Handicap Hurdle or the Higos Insurance Services Handicap Hurdle at Wincanton on Saturday.

Sunday Dream

Impressive recent Taunton winner I Have Dreamed and short head Southwell runner-up Vilcabamba must not be opposed in the opening novice hurdle and closing bumper at Plumpton where the featured Skybet.com Sussex National can go to Petite Margot who was second in the Scottish Borders National on her last outing.

Best Bets

  • Weekend Banker - I Have Dreamed 12.55 Plumpton Sunday.
  • Saturday Specials - Petit Robin 2.40 Sandown. Tine Tino 3.10 Sandown. Nycteos 1.20 Chepstow or 2.20 Wincanton.
  • Sunday Wagers - Petite Margot 2.25 Plumpton. Vilacabamba 3.55 Plumpton.
