Super Sunday

The Barclays Premier League serves up a superb double-header this Sunday with Arsenal v Chelsea and Liverpool v Man United. Both home teams will be desperate to put behind them hugely disappointing League defeats last weekend but they couldn't have been given tougher opponents.

Arsene Wenger was surprisingly critical of his team after their 2-1 loss to Middlesboro and the young guns will not be in the mood to give anything away at the Emirates Stadium this weekend.

Despite promises that they will become more flamboyant under Avram Grant, Chelsea are practically indistinguishable from the ruthlessly efficient but cautious team they were when Jose Mourinho was in charge.

A tight game may well end in a draw and correct score punters should consider 0-0 or 1-1, but the best way to profit from the match could be to lay over 2.5 goals.

While it’s hard to imagine a scoring blitz in north London, there should be plenty of goals in the North West when bitter rivals Liverpool and Man United do battle. Both teams have awesome attacks and have amassed 56 League goals between them so far this season. However, their defences are by no means impregnable and have conceded an aggregate of 17 goals.

Buying goals on the spreads and laying under 2.5 goals could be the way to go in this one

On Saturday Newcastle can follow up their last gasp victory against Birmingham at low confidence Fulham. Man City can continue their hot home form against struggling Bolton. West Ham and Everton will know each other's strengths and weaknesses well having played 3 days earlier in the Carling Cup quarterfinal and a draw looks on the cards at Upton Park.

Tricky Trevor

Golf fans are advised to back Trevor Immelman in the South African Airways Open this week. A dual previous winner of the tournament, Immelman will be full of confidence having just won the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

Surprise Alfred Dunhill Championship victor John Bickerton could go well again and is decent each-way value at around 50-1.
