Wednesday’s Champions League Preview, Odds and Betting
5th March, 2008
Wednesday night sees the final games game of the first knock-out round of the Champions League.
Chelsea are in action against Olympiakos, after a 0-0 draw in Greece last week. Chelsea will be confident of progressing after last weekend’s impressive 4-0 win over West Ham. Despite the short odds of the home side winning at a best priced 3/10 with Bet direct, plenty will be backing them. Money behind Olympiakos will be almost non-existant, whilst the draw will also be unpopular. Bets like Chelsea to win and 3 or 4 total goals at 7/4 will be more popular as punters look to extract value from the game.
Liverpool’s game against Internazionale has been postponed until Tuesday March 11th, as they play their game in hand in the Premiership this evening against West Ham.
Elsewhere Real Madrid host Roma, and Schalke visit FC Porto. With all three home sides favourites to win, a treble may well be the way to go, with a £10 stake returning over £40.
