Wednesday Premier league Betting odds
3rd March, 2009
The Premier league is entering the business phase of the season with every point won or lost being of high value. United seem unstoppable after beating Tottenham in the Carling Cup final on Sunday, as well as increasing the gap between them and Chelsea at the top of the league to 7 points last week.
Here's a look at the average odds for each of tomorrows games:
- Man City vs Aston Villa - Home- 19/10 Draw - 47/20 Away - 15/8
- Newcastle vs Manchester United- Home -15/2 Draw -33/10 Away -53/100
- Stoke City vs Bolton - Home 83/50 - Draw - 223/10 Away - 41/20
- Wigan vs West Ham - Home - 13/10 Draw - 47/20 Away - 27/10
- Blackburn vs Everton - Home 167/100 Draw- 23/10 Away - 41/20
- Fulham vs Hull - Home 19/25 Draw - 14/5 Away - 24/5
- Tottenham vs Middlesbrough - Home 43/50 Draw - 13/5 Away - 21/5
The biggest game of the night is arguably Newcastle v Manchester United at St James Park. United's defense has only leaked one goal in 13 matches (against Blackburn two weeks ago).
Newcastle on the other hand are still struggling to find form and will be desperate to gain at least a point to distance themselves from the relegation zone which lurks only 3 places below them in the table. It's a must win game for both, but Newcastle fans will be hoping their team pull off a shock win.
There's no love loss between the sides after the fierce title race back in 1996 when Kevin Keegan famously said, 'I will love it if we beat them' referring to the forthcoming match against United.
United will welcome the return of Wayne Rooney, after recovering from a virus. Edwin Van Der Sar, Carrick and Berbatov are all also likely to return. Newcastle are still without star striker Micheal Owen and winger Damien Duff is also out.
United won this fixture 4-1 last season.
Our Tip:
The game is United's for the taking with a almost full strength side and a solid defense. Newcastle will no doubt put up a strong fight but have little chance against one of the strongest United sides in years.
If you're willing to bet big on the Reds winning, then go with Paddy Power at 4/9. If you're looking for better odds then maybe look into the correct score or first goal scorer markets.
