8th April, 2008
This year's Masters is set to be heavily contested between two main players, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.
TIGER WOODS last two wins in the Masters have followed rain delays. He also still holds the record for the lowest ever score with 18 under par, a score he achieved at the beginning of his career in 1997. He has also won with 16 under and 12 under twice. The average winning score when Woods doesn’t win is between 7 and 9 under par. Woods has been the favourite for the past five years but has only won once in that time.
Tiger Woods is at 5/4 to take the victory with VC Bet
PHIL MICKELSON has won two of the last four Masters tournaments – 2004 and 06. He has an average of 71.24, little different to Woods average of 71. Mickelson also has a better average score on Tiger’s favourite hole, the 13th. He has an average of 4.22, compared to Wood’s 4.4.
Phil Mickelson is set at 11/1 to upset the odds and take the win with Paddy Power.
After the two favourites comes V. Singh at 10/1 with Ladbrokes, G. Ogilvy at 25/1 with William Hill and then P. Harrington at 25/1 again with William Hill.
