Tuesday’s Champions League Fixtures Preview
3rd March, 2008
Tuesday sees the first batch of second legs of the first knockout round in the Champions League, with much to play for in each of the games.
Tuesday 4th March UEFA Champions League Fixtures:
- AC Milan v Arsenal, (agg 0-0), 19:45
- Barcelona v Celtic, (agg 3-2), 19:45
- Man Utd v Lyon, (agg 1-1), 19:45
- Sevilla v Fenerbahce, (agg 2-3), 19:45
A quick look ahead to the British sides challenges tomorrow:
The defending European Champions welcome Arsenal to the San Siro, who have a tough task ahead of them. After playing out a 0-0 draw in London, Arsenal will have to show better form than in their recent domestic games to produce a win in Rome. The home side are huge favourites with the bookies at even money, whilst Arnseal go into the game as underdogs at around 3/1 with the likes of Coral.
Many will be expecting Barcelona to progress easily against Celtic who are 3-2 on aggregate. After leading for some of the game, Celtic conceded two cruicial goals that push them out to as much as 14/1 with some bookies to win the game. The Spanish giants can be picked up for 3/10 with VC Bet. There is no doubt Celtic will be backed at those prices by many as we are now all well aware that Celtic can produce huge shocks, as they did to reach this stage of the competition.
Man Utd will be confident going into their home tie against Lyon, with an away goal in their pocket on top of a 3-0 away victory over Fulham at the weekend. The home side are unsurprisingly favourites at 2/5 with Bet 365, whilst Lyon are moving out to 8/1 with the same bookmaker.
