Tuesday Champions League Betting
11th December, 2007
Tonight sees very different games for the English sides involved in the Champions League. Liverpool are up against it, whilst Chelsea go into the game as group winners.
Marseille v Liverpool – Live on ITV1, k/o 7:45pm
Marseille and Liverpool are level on 7 points and whoever wins this match will be celebrating a place in the UEFA Champions League last 16. This match is the most important game for Liverpool since last season’s Champions League Final. The qualifying odds favour Marseille, as a draw coupled with a Porto win would send Marseille through due to their win at Anfield on 3rd October. The bookmakers believe that Liverpool will just have enough to get the win they need to qualify, with bookies pricing Liverpool at 5/6 for the win, while Marseille have been given odds of 3/1 to claim all three points. With qualification at stake for the lucrative knock out stage, this promises to be an enthralling match.
Chelsea v Valencia – Live on ITV4, k/o 7:45pm
Chelsea’s impressive Champions League campaign continues with this match against Spanish giants Valencia. Having already qualified top of Group B, Chelsea will be looking to finish the group stage with a morale boosting win against the 2001 champions. Chelsea’s home form in the Champions League is impressive; in 13 games they have only dropped eight points having drawn four games. Combined with the fact that Valencia have played so poorly both domestically and on the continent, expect Chelsea to finish the group stage in style. Chelsea have been placed as firm favourites for this match, with VC Bet offering 3/4 on a win for the Blues, while Valencia have been priced at 10/3 to pull off the unexpected.
