Three British teams through to European finals
2nd May, 2008
Rangers last night saw off the challenge of Fiorentina, in a tense game which saw no goals after two legs and extra time. Rangers won 4-2 on penalties in a game which they never truly looked like winning. Daniel Cousin was even sent off in extra time, meaning the Scots had to soak up even more pressure. They held out and will now face Zenit St Petersburg in the UEFA final at the City of Manchester Stadium on May 14th. St Petersburg are the only non-British team to make a European final this season, after Chelsea and Manchester United both booked their place in the Champions League final earlier this week.
Manchester United needed only a single goal at home in the second leg to ease past Barcelona, whilst Chelsea did it the hard way, drawing 2-2 on aggregate after two legs, with extra-time providing three goals as Chelsea progressed 4-3 on aggregate.
For the Champions League final, Chelsea are evens, whilst United are 4/5 favourites. Click here to to compare Champions League final odds.
