The latest online betting odds for the Grand Prix 2009
14th September, 2009
It seems that although Button was favourite at the start of the Grand Prix and with a 100% record start to this year’s races, he seemed invincible! However, after having his confidence knocked and realising that it can be anyone’s race, people are wondering if the pressure is getting too much for the 29 year old and there are concerns whether or not he can make it to the end.
Mansell who stole the title in 1992 for Williams, explained how some drivers work well under pressure and noted that this is what he thinks his success that year depended on. However he also remarked that, “I predicted that Jenson would win the British Grand Prix this year, but instead what I saw this weekend was him tighten up a bit under the strain” showing that he does not think that the driver is fit for a win.
After Barrichello’s victory this weekend, it took him to 66 points in the championship with Button sitting at 80 and Brawn have revealed that they are going to sit back and let the two race it out. A spokesperson from Brawn explained “You have just got to make sure the atmosphere is calm, consistent and open and that there are no distractions. Apart from that we will just leave them to it!”
Jenson Button has admitted that Barrichello is his biggest rival now and he explained, “We are both super-competitive and both want to win, so we will race now until the end of the season”. Button should have this championship in the bag, with no space for other drivers to have a chance of competing, but instead he will have to fight his hardest to ensure that he can claim the title after the remaining 5 races are up.
Bookies Bet365 have given odds on those that are most likely to steal the title and are backing Button at 1/5, with Barrichello at 15/4, Vettel at 33/1 and Webber with slightly longer odds at 66/1.
