Online betting odds make Chelsea favourite to win the premiership
14th September, 2009
Despite being in the headlines for all of the wrong reasons recently, this does not seem to have affected the player’s performance and Chelsea remains the favourites to steal the premiership title this year. However, bookies predict that Manchester United is the team that will provide them with the most competition and are the ones to watch!
Irish bookies Paddy Power is offering 5/4 for Chelsea to win whilst Manchester United have had their odds slashed after beating spurs 3-1 this weekend, leaving Bet 365 to back them at 11/4 to keep hold of the title and show fans that there is more to the club than Ronaldo!
Another team that Chelsea should keep a watchful eye on is Man City. They have managed to maintain a 100% record and have shown their talent and proved they are not afraid of stronger teams, highlighted by a 4-2 win against Arsenal. Ladbrokes are currently backing Man City at the best price of 10/1 whilst other bookies go as short as 6/1. Bookies are also putting odds on Liverpool walking away with their first premiership title and can be backed at 7/1 with SkyBet.
It seems that Arsenal have felt the pressure this year and have got off to a bit of a bad start. They lost their second game this weekend damaging their chances and lengthening their odds to 12/1 with most bookies.
