The last of the Autumn internationals
28th November, 2008
This weekend sees the last games of the rugby union international season. With Wales hosting Australia and England taking on New Zealand.
November has been a month of mixed performances from the home nations, with the home nations only recording one win each of their games. After a solid start against the Pacific Islanders, England fell to the wayside against Australia and were outclassed by South Africa.
While Wales Scotland and Ireland all had tough opening games their performances were strong and it wasn’t until last week that we saw the tables turn with wins for both Scotland and Ireland. Well this weekend marks the end of a southern hemisphere tour many fans would rather forget.
Bet Fair has New Zealand as strong favourites at 0.09/1 to add to Martin Johnson’s misery and complete a grand slam sweep of the Isles, while Bet Daq tip Australia to win with 0.6/1 odds. Welsh and English fans can only hope then that a miraculous upset happens when the teams meet tomorrow, Will both teams find the aggression and killer instinct they have been lacking.
Our expert opinion would suggest, that while it is possible for England to come back from a horrific performance it is more likely that The All Blacks will leave with the Gran Slam. As for Cardiff we predict a very closely fought contest between the teams at the Millennium Stadium
