The COMEBACK
5th December, 2008
Professional boxing really is a tough sport, a sport where a strong successful career can be ruined in a few short brutal and bloody seconds. Something Amir Khan has had to learn the hard way. The fighter returns to the ring this weekend after 3 months. His last bout ended with him on the flat of his back looking up at his conqueror Columbian Breidis Prescott.
Critics would say that the defeat last time by Prescott was inevitable and Khan has a lot to prove in Saturday night’s fight with Irishman Oisin Fagan.
Khan is the overwhelming bookies favourite with is career so far boasting 18 wins and 14 KO’s. After his only career loss Khan was reported to have said, he was not going to make any excuses the Columbian caught him cold and he was unable to respond, all he could do was put more effort in work on his mistakes and comeback stronger.
Totesport have Khan at 1/14 with Fagan at 11/2 while Ladbrokes have Khan at 1/25 and Fagan at 8/1 It would seem that there is a lot of faith in Khan’s ability to produce a good performance come tomorrow night, the question is can the Irishman create an upset and rock Khan confidence.
Betfred
Khan 1/10
Draw 34/1
Fagan 11/2
Coral
Khan 1/12
Draw 28/1
Fagan 6/1
Khan will most likely want to have many of his critics eat their words and prove his worth in the sport, that why my prediction for tomorrow night’s fight is Khan in the 5th round.
