Tasmanian Gambling Enters the Kingdom

Tasmanian government’s application to the UK Gaming Commission to let betting agencies based in Tasmania to promote themselves in the UK.
Now Australian services can be advertised on the island, which is very good news for Betfair, which has a finger in that pie already.
Betfair’s representative, Andrew Twaits is guessing this development will encourage a huge number of online betters to get involved in Australian sports book betting.
"We have a trememndous pool of overseas customers who we think would be really interested in betting in Australian racing and sporting events," said Mr. Twaits. "So it was very important for us to do whatever we could to to help Tasmania, do whatever we could to make sure Tasmania was listed on the white list so we can advertise over there."
"It's fantastic news for Betfair as a business, and it's great news for Tasmania because they share in our success," he added.
