Japanese team Super Aguri have withdrawn from the Formula One World Championship due to a lack of funding. The team have ceased their racing activietites with immediate effect, and will not compete at this weekend’s Turkish Grand Prix.

They had been hoping for a successful takeover by Dubai-based Magma Group, but the collapse in April has seen the team struggle to even get a car out to race at the past few meetings. British hopeful Anthony Davidson is now left without a car to drive.

Team founder Aguri Suzuki said: "Anthony Davidson has always pushed to the limit despite very difficult conditions. Takuma Sato has been with us from the very start and has always fought hard and led the team. Lastly, I would like to express my thanks to our fans from all over the world, who have loyally supported the team."

Kimi Raikkonen is favourite to win the race in Turkey, at evens with Ladbrokes. He also remains favourite to win the driver championship again, at a best price of 4/11. Use our odds comparison service to find the best Formula 1 odds.
