Sky Bet say Grimes Brothers could win this year’s X-Factor

27th October, 2009

Sky Bet have been forced to immediately re price the Grimes Brothers after it was leaked that they headed the results from this week’s X-Factor. This has meant that on Monday they were backed at 40/1 but after hearing the news it was decided to slash their odds to 20/1 and Sky Bet truly believe that they could be stealing the title this year!

A betting expert from Sky Bet explained, “If the Grimes brothers were to win X Factor, the show would become a laughing stock so it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that the twins ‘do a John Sergeant’ and bow out of the competition.” This seems as though it could be a possibility so that the twins don’t lose face and it is priced at 16/1 that the twins voluntarily leave the competition before the final show.

The teenagers are third favourites, priced at 5/2, to go this week so it seems as though we could be hearing them for a couple more weeks yet, however they are at slightly longer odds of 4/1 to be crowned the winners.

Despite the dramatic cut in prices from Sky Bet, it must be highlighted that the odds throughout the competition have been all over the place and every week we see yet another dramatic change from the bookies. It will be interesting to see if last weeks and this week’s favourite to go, Rachel Adedeji, will survive another week as this could help to determine the future of the twins.
