Singapore Grand Prix Preview

25th September, 2009

British Formula one driver Jenson Button, has admitted that for the rest of the season, he will need to be vigilant as well as aggressive in order to capture the drivers’ championship.

With only four races remaining and a 14 point lead, the next stop on the circuit is Singapore. The eagerly awaited race is the only race that is conducted at night time. The Marina Bay Street Circuit, which includes public roads, is 5.073-kilometres and consists of 23 corners. As the race is at night time many teams could struggle as the track temperature could be lower than the air temperature, thus making it slippery.

Button has admitted that he is very well prepared for the race in the far-east. He told the official formula one website "As last year, we will stay on European timing for the race weekend which means staying awake throughout the night and sleeping most of the day to ensure that we are alert and the body is ready to react in the right way for the evening timetable.

"I spent some time at the factory last week driving the circuit on our simulator which helps with the track layout, gears and downforce levels, so we are well prepared and looking forward to arriving in Singapore and getting the weekend underway."

Meanwhile, reigning champion Lewis Hamilton is optimistic about his chances in Singapore. McClaren have also made technical adjustments to their cars and they believe their drivers will perform very strongly.

To win the Singapore Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton is 13/5 with William Hill. Jenson Button is 6/1 with Stan James while Rubens Barrichello is 5/1 with Bet 365. Kimi Räikkönen is 13/2 with Expeckt.
