Roy Keane feels the pressure as bookies lengthen Ipswich’s chance of success
17th September, 2009
Ipswich Town has not had much luck in recent games and it looks as though the bad moral is affecting the player’s performance. Since the season got underway, the team is still yet to gain a win out of 7 attempts and after a 1-1 draw last night with Nottingham Forest, it looks like Roy Keane may be tempted to move on sooner rather than later with Sky Bet offering 1/3 that he will go by the end of the season.
This is the worst start to a season that the club has had in over 40 years and they still sit second from the bottom of the Championship. Speaking about last night’s game, Keane explained that, “If the game was a minute long we would have won” he then went on to say, “I thought the fans were really good despite us losing our way a little bit in the second half. The injuries threw us a little bit but the injuries gave them the momentum.”
Due to their recent performance, Sky Bet has now lengthened their odds of reaching the Premier League next year and they are now being backed at 11/1. A spokesperson from Sky Bet explained, “Ipswich have made a very slow start to their Championship campaign and given Keane’s past managerial record, it would not be a surprise to see him leave his post at Ipswich if a marked improvement isn’t made soon.”
