Roddick To Face Federer In US Open Quarter-Final

Former US champion Andy Roddick will face world number one Roger Federer in the US Open quarter-final.

Roddick had led had led 7-6 (8-6) 2-0 in his match against Berdych when his ninth-seeded opponent was forced to quit the contest with a stomach problem. He later admitted disappointment in not claiming a proper victory, explaining "You don't want to advance because someone isn't feeling well."

Federer dropped only the first set on the way to defeating Feliciano Lopez. The Swiss immediately hit back, taking 32 consecutive service points. Eleven aces and ten service games to love saw him through 3-6 6-4 6-1 6-4 to set up the showdown with the former champ.
