Prison For Vibrator Villian!

23rd August, 2007

Nicki Jex, 27, of Braunstone, Leicester, was jailed for five years after he held up the Ladbrokes in Narborough Road with his girlfriend's vibrator.

Jex concealed the Rampant Rabbit in a plastic bag and forced the manageress to hand over £613 in cash. He was sentenced after the case was heard by the Leicester Crown Court.

Wayne Vakani, the last customer in the bookies, was told to back off as Jex made his escape. Undeterred Mr Vakani follwed Vex at a safe and discreet distance to watch where he went. He then found a hat that Jex wore at the scene of the robbery which still contained his DNA.

Jex initially denied any involvement, but then changed his plea. Phil Gibbs, defending Jex, said that due to his client's downward spiral into drugs, he was in a very "fragile" state.

"It's right to record that you did not have a firearm but you pretended you had and intended that those you confronted believed that you did, and it must have been truly terrifying for them at the time," said Judge Philip Head as he sentenced Jex to five years in prison.
