Online football betting odds for Saturday’s match which sees Manchester United play Bolton
16th October, 2009
Last weekend Wayne Rooney picked up a calf injury whilst playing against Ukraine and it seems as though the 23-year-old striker has not recovered in time to play in this weekend’s Barclays Premier League match against Bolton at Old Trafford.
As well as missing out on this weekend’s actions, Sir Alex Ferguson is also unsure as to whether or not Rooney will be fit for Wednesday’s Champions League game against Moscow.
The United manager revealed that he understood how ‘troublesome’ calf injuries are and went on to explain, “We are trying our best to get him fit for Wednesday but I have my doubts, but Wayne will hopefully be fit for the Liverpool game”.
Ferguson has also confirmed that Edwin van der Sar will return to the game for the first time this season after breaking two fingers back in July. It was also made known that Michael Owen is fit to play despite groin problems but Ferguson is still unsure on whether or not Dimitar Berbatov will be free to play as his partner has just given birth.
Online bookies Betfred are making Manchester United favourite to win the match backed at 2/1 with Wolves at 10/1 and a draw at 4/1. Despite Manchester United not playing their strongest team, it still looks likely that they will have a comfortable win with Betfred offering the shortest odds on a 2-0 score at 5/1. Other odds for the over/under market show that bookies are confident that there is going to be solid win from United with a 3-0 win priced at 7/1.
For Wolves, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is favourite to score first backed at 10/1, whilst Berbatov (if he is playing) and Michael Owen are both priced at 10/3 Betfred.
