Online betting odds see Franck Ribery moving to Real Madrid

24th September, 2009

Fans and footballers alike wait anxiously for the next transfer window to see what future seasons will bring and it seems that the next transfer window is no different with suspicion that Franck Ribery will move clubs.

After a 2-1 win for Bayern Munich last weekend, Ribery refused to answer questions about the rumoured move but team mate Robben was slightly more forward exclaiming, “I wouldn’t advise him to go to Real Madrid because I want to play with him!”.

The midfielder is currently signed with Bayern Munich but it looks as though he will have a different direction after the January transfer window. He may still have 3 months left of playing at the club, but bookies can’t help but offer odds on where he will go next. Despite bookies eager attitude towards the player’s future, it seems likely that he will stay put until the summer transfer window and the odds on him moving this January look slim with Sky Bet offering 1/7 that Ribery will still be at Bayern Munich after January.

Whilst the competition appears to be between Manchester United and Real Madrid, it looks as though Real Madrid are extremely keen to steal the player for themselves and Sky Bet are offering odds of 7/1 that he will go to Real Madrid next summer, in comparison to a price of 10/1 that he moves to Manchester United this January.

The club is in a debt of €327 million and the sale of Ribery would help the club tremendously with regards to their money situation, especially if they have an unsuccessful season and are deprived of trophies. So it looks like the bookies have the right idea with this one and it defiantly seems worth getting the bet’s in early!
