Online betting odds for the Groups Category on X-Factor

2nd October, 2009

After a very intense weekend of X-Factor last weekend, a final decision was made and the contestants for the group category were narrowed down to just six. As well as the excitement of who was through to boot camp, it was also revealed that Louis Walsh will be the mentor of the group’s category for yet another year. Although Louis assured the cameras, the judges and the groups that he was ecstatic, it was easy to notice that maybe he wasn’t completely truthful, but with him more determined than ever to beat rival judge Simon Cowell, let’s hope that this year he can do it!

The groups don’t look as strong as they have been in previous years, but with the recent success of last year’s runners up, boy band JLS, there is still hope for the bands! Bookies are backing Miss Frank as the band to go all the way, which is a little discouraging as it is a band formed by 3 contestants who didn’t make it through as solo artists and clearly have very little chemistry working together. Despite them being favourite of the groups, there odds are still as long as 40/1 with Blue Square.

John and Edward Grimes have managed to get a lot of attention through the show, both good and bad. Simon Cowell didn’t want them in the completion and even joked that if he got the group category that he would not be taking them on, but luckily for the twins they got Louis who has always been a big fan of them since their first audition. They appear to have a good chance of making it to the live finals as they are the type of act that are able to win over the public with their charm which has shortened there odds to 50/1.

The other acts seem to have very little chance and are all backed as outsiders with De-Tour and Project A at 100/1 with Bet 365 and Trucolouz at 125/1.
