Online betting odds for next Peterborough manager

11th November, 2009

It was revealed on Tuesday that Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson had left the club and today it has become the clubs urgent priority to find an adequate replacement immediately. It has been highlighted that the decision was mutual, despite rumours implying that the manager had been sacked from his position. Ferguson refused to comment any further so no one knows his thoughts on the situation.

Bob Symns explained, “The football club has parted company with Darren by mutual consent. It was agreed to part company for the benefit of the club. We hope to have a new manager as soon as possible.” Symns went on to confirm that Ferguson is the only member of the team to leave the club and further statements are planned for later on in the week.

Bookies couldn’t resist but to jump in and offer prices on who they think are capable of taking over his position and who will be the best benefit to the club. Sky Bet have priced former Reading boss Steve Coppell as 4/1 favourite, whilst the former England under 21 manager Peter Taylor is priced at 5/1 making him second favourite.

A spokesmen from Sky Bet explained, “Steve Coppell ruled himself out of becoming next manager of Brighton last week but this higher profile job at Peterborough may tempt him back into football.”

A good bet is Bournemouth chief Eddie Howe, who is priced at 8/1. Previously, Howe has shown his talent by turning around Bournemouth, guiding them safely away from relegation.
