Online betting odds for Rio Ferdinand and the World Cup
27th October, 2009
With Fabio Capello’s big decision drawing even closer and players fighting for a seat on the plane, it seems that now those who are going to be picked are aware they will be heading to South Africa, but the next big competition is which players out of the 23 will be short listed to play in the opening match.
Ladbrokes are now pricing Rio Ferdinand at 6/4 not to start in England’s opening World Cup game and he is priced at 1/2 to make up the team that is up first to represent the Three Lions.
It seems that it is not only Ferdinand’s country club success that is lacking for the defender, with Ladbrokes doubtful he will start the next season with Manchester United and can be priced at 10/3 to be elsewhere at the start of the new season.
As shocked as fans of his country and his club are, a spokesperson from Ladbrokes explained, “Not so long ago we would not have contemplated this market. Ferdinand was the rock at the heart of England and United. But his air of invincibility has begun to crumble and there are now serious question marks about his future at Old Trafford and for the Three Lions.”
Let’s hope that Ferdinand finds his concentration and makes England proud in the 2010 World Cup. For more odds on the World Cup or to place a bet then visit Ladbrokes and open your account today and get yourself a FREE £10 bet.
