Online Betting Odds on Heniken Cup Semi Finals
29th April, 2009
With the rugby union premiership season drawing to a close at the weekend, only the league title playoffs and the Heineken Cup finals remain.
This weekend sees the semi finals of the Heineken Cup take place, with Leicester Tigers taking on Cardiff Blues, and all Irish affair will see Leinster battle cup champions Munster.
Bookies still make champions Munster favourites to retain their title, although Cardiff are gaining ground due to their current form.
With the announcement of 14 Irish players in this year’s Lions squad, Saturday’s game between the two Irish giants is likely to be a very physical match, with many players fighting to get on the Lions team sheet.
Both Paddy Power and Bet365 make Munster 3/10 favourite while Leinster are priced at 5/2 underdogs.
Bookies believe Sunday’s game at the Millennium Stadium will be tight with both teams having decent chances of winning. According to bookmakers Leicester are slight underdogs at 11/10 with Cardiff Blues at 8/11.
Paddy Power Betting Odds:
Cardiff Blues 8/11
Leicester Tigers 6/5
Munster 3/10
Leinster 5/2
First Try Scorer odds:
Doug Howlett 10/1
Luke Fitzgerald 12/1
Brain O’Driscoll 14/1
David Wallace 18/1
Paddy Power is also offering a great special;
They’ll refund all losing try scorer and winning margin bets, if Keith Earls or Brian O’Driscoll score the last try.
My Tip:
Munster to win by 10 points, while I tip Leicester to cause an upset winning by 5 points.
