Novelty Bets get the Nod
8th October, 2007
Recent calls from the major sporting associations to ban novelty bets have been rejected by the UK Gambling Commission. The calls were made in an effort to eliminate all coruption within sport, which the sport associations believed were not helped by the provision of novelty bets. The UK Gambling Commission stated that there was insufficient evidence showing that the bets were more open to corruption, but did warn that it would review its position if new evidence emerged.
