Murray progresses to third round of Pacific Life Open

17th March, 2008

Andy Murray won his second-round tie against Jurgen Melzer to progress to the third round of the Pacific Life Open.

Despite a shaky first set in which Murray’s serve was broken twice to lost the first four games and eventually the set 6-3, the Scot came back to win the second and third sets.

The current world number 11 appeared to be struggling with a back injury, and both players were unhappy at decisions from the officials throughout the game. Murray will face Ivo Karlovic in the next round, which Murray is 2/5 favourite with Coral to win.

Murray is a huge 17/1 to win the tournament, a price which will surely be backed early on with a view of laying if he progresses to the next round.
