Monday Night Football
15th December, 2008
Such is the life of a NFL team, one day your hailed as the wildcard, the team to lookout for, next years’ big promise. The next day you’re the AFC’s whipping boy. With a current record of 4-9 the Browns are not looking to good at all. And as if their recent 3 straight defeats wasn’t back enough it is very widely expected that it will be 4.
This awful season for the Browns has left a very dark cloud hanging over the team, with owner Randy Lerner saying the entire organisation was under review. The review involves the futures of Browns head coach Romeo Crennel, general manager Phil Savage and many of the team's top players.
The Browns come up against the Eagles tonight who notoriously finish the season well. In 2007 they finished with three straight wins, however they missed out on the playoffs as they finished the record 8-8.
The Eagles final two games are away at Washington and at home against another wild-card contender, the Cowboys. It was a big blow for the Eagles to draw against the Bengals but a 10-5-1 record could be their ticket to the playoffs.
The odds for tonight are overwhelmingly in the Eagles favour, as the Browns are already looking towards next year.
