Michael Schumacher betting odds
5th January, 2010
After it has been announced that the seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher will be returning to the racing track, bookies have started offering all the latest betting odds in preparation for the Grand Prix 2010.
It was revealed that the 41 year old will return from retirement and race for Mercedes next season. He is priced at 13/2 with Victor Chandler to win the championship.
In 2009, Schumacher planned to return to the track to replace Felipe Massa, but due to low fitness levels following a neck injury from a motorcycle accident he was unable to drive. Ferrari did mention that they would have Schumacher back if it was approved that they could have three cars on the grid, but after this was declined the chances of him returning to Ferrari lengthened before it was finally agreed that he would race for Mercedes.
Sky Bet are offering a price of 5/1 that Schumacher will win the Drivers Championship in 2010 and 8/13 that the former champion will win a Grand Prix next year.
A spokesman from Sky Bet explained, “The return of Schumacher to Formula 1 is great news and if he is given a competitive enough car he will definitely be up there competing with the likes of Hamilton and Button.”
