Match preview and betting odds for England vs. Brazil
13th November, 2009
Saturday 14th November sees England play a friendly match against Brazil in the International Stadium in Qatar. Whilst the game is not a big decision maker, the practice will prove priceless for Fabio Capello to help him get his team in shape for their trip to South Africa next year where they aspire to be the first English team for 44 years to lift the trophy.
England have already proved themselves as a deserving team to represent their country, having won a staggering nine out of ten matches to qualify and beating teams like Ukraine and Croatia, making fans see their potential of winning with year’s world cup.
Saturday will be a chance for Capello to perfect his choice for 2010 with the main two decisions that appear to be a struggle including a striker dilemma and who to give no 1 shirt too in goal!
Bookies make Wayne Rooney a definite, whilst Emile Heskey would be a preferred choice to partner him up front, due to injury he will not be able to play this weekend opening the gap for the likes of Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch to battle against each other.
Brazil has also managed to obtain a stable performance rate, dominating the majority of their games to qualify for the world cup pushing them to the top of the table. With previous success and their current wins, Brazil will yet again be backed heavily by the bookies to steal the title for yet another year.
Whilst this weekend’s game provides Capello with a chance to tweak his team to ensure it is the best possible combination for their time in South Africa, for Dunga it will be a fantastic opportunity for him to challenge his team by playing against one of the most feared European teams which will hopefully stand them in good stead for 2010. In the last friendly between England and Brazil in 2007, the final score was 1-1 and bookies are predicting another draw tomorrow, but this time involving more goals.
Saturday’s game will not be about winning against Brazil, it will be about catching Capello’s attention to fight for a seat on the plane to South Africa! It is set to be a close game and hopefully some outstanding football, resulting in some jaw dropping goals!
