Match Preview and online betting odds for West Ham United vs. Aston Villa.

3rd November, 2009

In the Barclays Premier League, West Ham entertain Aston Villa this Wednesday with a 7.45pm kick off and this will be a very important game for West Ham as they are desperate for a win to ensure they move safely out of the relegation zone.

West Ham has a very poor home record, giving Aston Villa the advantage, however, it seems that manager Martin O’Neill’s team decision is going to be harder than usual with some of his best footballers having to stay out the game due to injuries. James Milner looks set to fail the fitness test after incurring a bruised calf in Saturday’s game against Everton and the same goes for Stiliyan Petrov who was also sent off with injuries before the final whistle due to a dangerous tackle which has caused bruising.

O’Neill went on to explain that, “It is extremely doubtful that James will be fit to play in tomorrow’s game but we are giving Petrov every opportunity to recover. The team choice will be constructed on a balancing act, with the strength in depth in the squad, we are capable of bringing in players but to have both players out would be a serious loss to our midfield.”

Wednesday’s game is one of two very important games for West Ham this week and two wins has the potential to secure them six points which would turn their season around. West Ham’s manager reveals his frustration explaining, “The main plus is that we are creating a lot of chances and we look like we have a lot of goals in us, we just need to act on this.”

It is crucial for West Ham that they win the home games to increase their points and Wednesdays game looks like their chance to begin to string a few wins together. West Ham’s manager confirmed, “There is a real desire in the squad and we are certain that there are some good results just around the corner and are hopeful to win Wednesday’s game.”
